Skaneateles WinterFest by the Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club - Jan 29, 2011 - was a HUGE success.   This popular winter offered folks of all ages a chance to enjoy a Winter day in our picturesque Village Saturday, January 29, 2011.   This year's Winterfest featured the popular Taste of
Skaneateles providing visitors a chance to sample delectable foods and beverages throughout the Village Center.   Spectacular ice sculptures carved by internationally acclaimed ice sculptor Stan Kolonko of The Ice Farm adorned the route and wowed passersby for several day following the event!  Once again Siberian Husky sled dogs offered demonstrations and rides to all ages on the frozen surface of the lake!  More than 40 polar bears plunged into the 34-degree waters of Skaneateles Lake for the second annual Skaneateles Polar Bear Plunge's Freez’n for a Reason event!   Jim Parr of Heart 'n Hand showed off his exceptional wood carving skills at Skaneateles Town Square and donated the finished product for a silent auction at Red Rooster Pub with all proceeds benefiting the Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club.  Thanks to all of the many sponsors, merchants and restaurants who participated, more than $13,000.00 was raised for charitable causes that will benefit Skaneateles and the surrounding community as well as valuable national and international service projects.   Stated simply, Winterfest was a great winter day in Skaneateles!

Skaneateles WinterFest - 2010

Skaneateles Winterfest, coordinated by the Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club, has become a staple of Winter in Skaneateles.  This years, Winterfest 2010 took place Saturday, January 30th, 2010 with activities throughout the village and at the Community Center.  This year’s Winterfest have included a Winter Carnival created by kids, for kids, snow sculptures, ice sculpture demonstrations,  Taste of Skaneateles, a Winter Brewfest, coffee tasting, wine tasting, community emergency vehicle displays, Siberian Huskies dog sled demonstrations; Search & Rescue (SAR) dogs; stunt comedians, youth activities, pony rides, and the Skaneateles Polar Club dip into the lake.   Stated simply, Winterfest was a great opportunity for local folks, particularly children, to enjoy a winter day in our Skaneateles.

WinterFest 2012 - Saturday, January 28th -

Many enjoyed a Winter day in the Village of Skaneateles for the Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club's Winterfest 2012.  Activities included the Taste of Skaneateles, featuring soups, chili, stews, wines, more than 50 beers, chocolate, baked items and much more from Skaneateles' finest, Ice sculptures carved by world-famous ice sculptor Stan Kolonko along with an ice carving demonstration, wood carving demonstrations by Jim Parr of Skaneateles, and the ever popular Polar Bear Plunge featuring more than 50 brave souls plunged into the icy waters of Skaneateles Lake.  Click on Picture to review the many pictures of the event.
